If you ask anyone that knows me, I LOVE cupcakes! Well I love any kind of cake really lol but there is just something about a cupcake that always makes me smile :) As I was walking through the mall the other day I noticed a cupcake store. I was so excited. I walked up to the store and all I could smell was cupcakes. YUM! As I got to the counter all I could hear was very very loud music. It was a tad too loud considering it was a small store in the mall. (Coming from me it must have been loud considering I'm around live bands all of the time) I moved on from the loud music and ordered my cupcakes. Red Velvet, Banana, Carrot and Coconut. My total was about $13.00. Not a bad price for gourmet :) I got home and my boyfriend and I shared a bite of all 4 cupcakes and I was very.... let down. They looked soooo cute sitting there in their little box. Icing looked perfect and was decorated so cute. Our 1st bite was of the red velvet. The icing was like a brick. You could actually take it off in one blob and drop it on the floor and it stayed together. I had asked the girls if everything was made fresh daily and they said yes. I guess if they made them in the morning and I was there at 2 its still fresh. Anyways, the red velvet cake itself could only be described as a moist brick. It didn't even taste like red velvet. It was terrible. so we threw it away and moved on to the coconut. The icing was again hard as a brick but it tasted ok. the cake was not as hard as the red velvet but the texture was just so off but it tasted... ok. Reluctantly, we moved on to the carrot. Now this is my favorite flavor of cake so I was really looking forward to it. One bite and I was done. It tasted like a spice cake. There were not even pieces of carrot or raisons in it. It looked and tasted like the boxed spice cake I made the other day. It wasn't even the right color if it was carrot. Now if she had told me it was spice cake I would have actually enjoyed this one. The cake was fluffy the icing was perfect but it was not carrot and if it was... EEK! Moving on to the last one. Banana. it was...drum roll..... DELICIOUS!  The cake was perfect the icing was sooooo good and they even had a little nilla wafer on top. YUMMMMM! I was shocked. How can you make a little banana piece of heaven but mess up on 3 other cakes?? Hmmm.....

So in conclusion... Will I go back there? I will not make a special trip for sure but maybe if I'm at the mall I'll buy 1 (instead of 4) just  to try the other flavors because the Banana was out of this world good but I will never order the red velvet, coconut or carrot ever again. Too bad because those are actually my absolute favorite flavors :(
